Too much unexplained by Kidman's behaviour to throw us off the scent. Season 2 killer ?

Exactly. But don't you mean a "grown up" lol. She was very petite as well. Only takes the initial blow to knock her out and then the rest is easy.

Finished watching this last night and should of guessed that it was his time to play the villain, when you look at all his previous parts and age. Clever really as we all fell for it. He’s a great actor though and I think he’s a character in real life also.

Why did him saying about the dry cleaners make Kidman realise it was actually him??

He says playing a bastard suits him more as that's more what he's like in real life compared to the wishy washy characters. Interesting person is Hugh Grant, and very funny.

I can see why they wanted Hugh Grant for the role...
Everyone still associates him with Four Weddings and Notting Hill so it threw them off completely.
He's very good at playing a bastard as well.

That would be pretty decent actually! Think they missed a trick in the show a little bit - the focus in the book is a lot on the fact that Kidman’s character has a new book coming out and how this whole case undermines it and her professional reputation. It’s also a lot more about her uncovering the truth herself - Jonathan isn’t even in the book
So they missed that it’s actually her whole world unravelling not just the murder. But they set about it in a really good way in the show and the dodgy flashbacks and weird coincidences like her walking near the murder scene at around the same time hinted at there being more to the story than was being let on
And then it all just jumped back to how it is in the book anyway.
And still no one raised the question of ‘where were you actually going when you said you were going to be on a conference that didn’t exist’

Here is the biggest twist and will be revealed in season 2
All of the flashbacks are what people are imagining. That was a constant thought out.
Kidman is a Harvard educated psychologist and is skilled at manipulating people’s brains.
Grant denied he was the killer throughout because he wasn’t. However after constant prompts by Kidman and after discussing how he blocked out his sisters death he eventually was convinced he was the killer and had blocked it out. This is why he wanted to jump off the bridge and kill himself. A sociopath wouldn’t have the guilt or empathy to be so hit by the tragedy that they would take their own life.
A psychopath however would have the cold hearted plan to kill the woman who destroyed their life and then frame the husband who was unfaithful to her.
Why are the opening credits only focused on a child Kidman and the song “dream a little dream for me?” - her whole life has been her dream, she sees what she wants to see and creates what she wants to create.
She has played everyone, including you the audience whilst all the while we are led to believe that Grant has played everyone including you the audience.
It’s very clever.

One of the most preposterous things I’ve ever seen, however, it was entertaining and Hugh Grant was very good.
